| Bio: | ... please stay tuned... OK, here it comes... Can't stop the signal. This is going to be slightly bigger than "a little mini-biography". I have a lot of my interests listed already, but I'll go into more detail here. Prepare yourself for randomness - I'm going to list things as they pop into my head. Here's the Short version: I'm a pretty cool dude. I'm observant, witty, and sarcastic. Oh, and humble. I don't really know what direction this journal will take, I'm just going to let it go and see what happens. Now starts the Longer Version... I live in VA Beach, VA, with my dog Sin-D (pronounced Cindy, but just spelled much cooler), a turtle (Oscar), and various tropical fish (the Nameless Ones.) I've also lived in Thailand, Indonesia, and Greece. I've visited Singapore, Egypt, Australia, London, Hong Kong, and have passed through an airport in Rome (where I saw my 1st Uzi - don't know why that is all I remember of Rome.) I drive a Dodge Durango and ride a Suzuki Boulevard M50. My parents were divorced not long after I was born. I never really got to know my dad and he died before I could reconcile that. There's not a week that goes by that I don't regret it, and it's been 14 years since his death. My dad once told me how I was related to Johnny Cash. He even drew me a chart. I lost the chart. Movies and TV have always been a passion of mine, so here are some of my favs: -Movies I Love (in NO preferential order): Serenity, Batman Begins, Excalibur, Shaun o/t Dead, The Matrix (all 3), Underworld, Equilibrium, Kill Bill 1 & 2, Pulp Fiction, Sin City, Highlander, Black Hawk Down, Bladerunner, Logan's Run, Conan, Escape From NY, Enemy At The Gates, Fight Club, The Professional, American History X, American Beauty, Troy, Blade (all 3), Star Wars (eps 4-6), LOTR Trilogy, Indiana Jones (all 3), L.A. Confidential, Gladiator, Logan's Run, Mad Max trilogy, Outlaw Josey Wales, Alien & Aliens, Terminator 1 & 2, Star Trek 2 (& 4 & 6), Clerks, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back (I love pretty much all of Kevin Smith's work, but those two are my favs), Enter The Dragon & Return o/t Dragon (huge Bruce Lee fan!), 5 Deadly Venoms, 10 Tigers of Kwan-Tun, Shrek 1 & 2, Pirates o/t Caribbean, Memento, Heat, Risky Business, Boondock Saints, Shakespeare In Love, TAPS (it was filmed at my military school!), Tron - there's way too many more. I also love almost anything by Jackie Chan and Jet Li, most old-school Shaw Brothers kung-fu flicks (I also like some of the "new school" - Iron Monkey, Couching Tiger, House of Flying Daggers), as well as the James Bond series and Clint Eastwood westerns. I have over 500 DVDs, just to give you an idea. -TV Shows I Love (in NO particular order & including ones that are sadly, no longer with us): FarScape, Firefly, Babylon 5, Buffy TVS, Angel, Stargate SG1, Stargate Atlantis, Lost, CSI (original), NCIS, Studio 60, Cold Case, Alias, 24, The Office, Family Guy, Space Above & Beyond, X-Files, The Lone Gunmen, Battlestar Galactica (both classic and current), Doctor Who, Buck Rogers, Rome, Oz, Six Feet Under, The Wire, Deadwood, Entourage, Carnivale, The L-Word, Dexter, Smallville, Supernatural, ER, South Park, Jeopardy, Highlander, Andromeda (but only the 1st couple of seasons), Two Guys & A Girl, The Shield, Las Vegas, Nip/Tuck, Jericho -TV Shows I Want To Watch (but really haven't started yet): House, Veronica Mars I like anime too. Here's that list: Battle Angel Alita, Ghost In The Shell (movies and series), Kenshin (OVA), Appleseed 2004, Advent Children, Ninja Scroll (movie, haven't seen much of the series), Robotech, Voltron (all series), Macross Zero, Witch Hunter Robin, Blood - The Last Vampire, Yukikaze, Vampire Hunter D - Bloodlust I've seen plenty others, but those are my favs so far. Anime I'm waiting to watch: Hellsing, Gunsword, RahXephon, Wolf's Rain, Samurai 7 Favorite Fantasy Artists: Frank Frazetta, Luis Royo, Brom, Boris Vallejo, Julie Bell (I've met her!), Charles Vess, Micheal Kaluta I also love music and going to concerts. Here are bands and artists that I like (in case you haven't already caught on, the list is in no particular order): Natalie Merchant/10K Maniacs (I've met her a couple of times!), Garbage (I've met Shirley!), Rush, Bruce Dickinson/Iron Maiden, Nightwish, Lacuna Coil (I've met them!), Midnattsol, Amaran, Flowing Tears, Visions of Atlantis, Evanescence, Crystal Method, Rage vs The Machine, Tori Amos, Metallica (OLD SCHOOL ONLY!), Jag Panzer, The Corrs, Enya, Linkin Park I love to read, and own a few hundred books. Favorite authors/series include (but are not limited to): Peter David, Harry Harrison (Stainless Steel Rat series), William Dietz, Joe Haldeman, the original Dragonlance series, Richard A. Knaak, Timothy Zahn (his Star Wars are the BEST!), Jack Vance (Lyonesse trilogy), Richard Matheson, Philip K Dick. I have a decent collection of King Arthur related books, including some cool antiques. I also have some original Ian Fleming's James Bond novels from the 60s, and the original Time/Life "The Old West" leather-bound editions. Now for some randomly listed Misc Things & Likes/Dislikes: -Black and silver are my favorite colors. After those 2? Gunmetal and blue. -I'm an extroverted introvert. -I'm very outgoing, but enjoy my solitude. -I like weapons. Actually, I love weapons - I own a couple dozen swords of various types, daggers, and martial arts weapons from when I was studying kung-fu. -I like guns, but I hate hunting/fishing. I have several handguns and rifles. -I never go to church. Unless it's a Flying Spaghetti Monster church, like a good Italian restaurant. -I love to save money, but I really love to spend it. -I'm an Internet addict. -I like video games, but don't like dedicating hours of my life to them. I've played dozens, but have only ever finished one all the way through. Most of them I've played 1/4 to 1/2 way through. -I've had my dog for 11 years now, and in the back of my mind I know we only have a few years left together. I'm afraid of what's going to happen to me when she's gone. -I own way too many action figures. -I own way too many comic books. And I keep buying more. -I never seem to get around to changing all of my wall calendars until a week or so into a new month. -I hate milk. -I LOVE naps. -I have a lot of celebrity crushes (Danica Patrick, Angleina Jolie, Kate Beckinsale, Charlize Theron - to name a few.) -I'm addicted to Best Buy (CURSE you Reward Zone!) -I don't get the Quiznos talking baby. A talking baby hawking subs? Why? -I love Outback Steakhouse. I always order the same thing: the Ayers Rock strip, butterfly cut and cooked well-done, with a side of garlic mashed potatoes and steamed brocolli. Keep flying.  | |||||
